It’s high summer, and my plants are just exploding with new growth. It’s difficult to comprehend that these 4 & 5 foot tall plants were mere seeds two months ago. They are growing at breakneck speed through the peak light of mid summer. To fuel this growth they have all the food they need from well amended soil, with a drip irrigation system to meet their water needs. They need nothing from me at all. So this is a great time for me to move out of the heat in the garden and into the kitchen to make delicious cannabis infused treats with last year’s harvest.

I’ve been experimenting with precision dosing lately. As I have benefitted from higher dosed CBD edibles, I’ve been testing ways to get perfectly dosed, delicious treats. Making gummies is my go-go edible for THC and mixed ratio treats, as I enjoy the feeling of low doses any time THC is in the mix. But CBD is different. Whereas I might enjoy a 5mg THC gummy, I’m looking for a 15, 20 or even 25 mg CBD treat. Instead of using tincture I’ve been enjoying using CBD oils to infuse chocolate. These little infused chocolate hearts have been a big hit with family and friends who’ve been enjoying my concoctions over the years. One of the few cananbis specific tools I use in my kitchen is the EtOH Pro Extractor from ExtractCraft. Using this device I make my own pure cannabis oils. No worries about pesticides or toxins, as I use my own homegrown clean weed to make the THC and CBD oils. I’ve loved using these cannabis oils in my Magic Salve, and now have come up with a sure fire way to craft precisely dosed little chocolates that taste delicious even at doses of 20 mg per 1.5g chocolate.

My business partner Kaisha and I will debut a workshop to teach anyone how to make their own cannabis infused chocolates! I’m really excited about this one. If you’re interested in learning how to make your own, and can be in Albany, CA on July 25th, please consider signing up for this workshop. You’ll leave with 65 custom dosed cannabis chocolates and then — when you’re ready with your own home grown cannabis — you can make more for yourself at home.
